HELP US GET TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!
From humble beginnings, UCO Hockey has worked to establish itself among the elite in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). For the past 18 years, UCO Hockey has climbed the ranks to become a perennial national championship contender in the ACHA. With only a few weeks before nationals, the #3 nationally ranked Bronchos look to solidify their rank going into National Tournament and clinch the Western Collegiate League (WCHL) title for their second 3-peat in program history.
Although one of the most attended and popular sports on campus, hockey at UCO is a club sport. Due to the club nature of the program, the team is responsible for fundraising 90% of their operating budget, which includes travel to the 2024 ACHA National Tournament in St. Louis, MO. Your gifts go directly to the team to provide additional support for equipment and travel costs.
The UCO Hockey Program is operated on a 100% volunteer basis, which includes head coach Michael Rivera and assistant coaches Brandon Harley and Chirs Hille. All three coaches are UCO alumni and have had major roles in the program’s success as players and behind the bench. Currently, the dedicated coaches work full-time jobs in addition to their roles as volunteer coaches. The sacrifices by the UCO Hockey coaches to not collect a stipend assists heavily in the budgetary needs to operate a national championship contender.
UCO Hockey has won two National Championships, five WCHL championships, competed in four final-four berths, and played in 13 national championship tournaments. With your help, Central can add more banners to the Broncho Barn rafters in 2024.
