What is the Central Pantry?
The Central Pantry is UCO’s on-campus food pantry for students and employees. It was established in November 2012 as a partnership agency of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to help provide free supplemental food assistance for our campus community. It was the first official college-based pantry in the state! Through campus and community partnerships, donations, and volunteers, the Central Pantry operates to serve anyone at UCO facing food insecurity or hunger.
Why we need your help!
In the past year, we have seen a 75% increase in the usage of the Central Pantry. With the added barriers of rising grocery costs, transportation costs, and housing costs, it is more important than ever that the Central Pantry has the ability to support our student body with stocked shelves of food. Your gift will go directly to purchasing foods to stock the pantry shelves, especially those foods that are often low in stock! Leading up to finals, the holiday season, and winter break, having food available is critical to the health and wellness of our students.
